Visit a dentist
Door: Redactie Zorgkiezer - Leestijd: 1 minuutDental care covered by your health insurance
Before you can visit a dentist, you have to register at a dentist practice. This is often done at a dental practice within your municipality.
Dental care is covered by the additional dental insurance. If you do not have an additional dental insurance, you have to pay the bill yourself. For children younger than 18 years, the basic health insurance covers dental care.
Reimbursement of dental costs
If you recently applied for an additional dentist insurance but did not receive your insurance number, you have to pay the bill yourself. As soon as you receive your insurance number, you can send the bill forward to your insurance company which reimburse the costs.
When you have an insurance number and an additional dentist insurance, the dentist will send the bill forward to the insurance company that will take care of the reimbursement.
